Herman Cain triumphs again at Values Voter Summit
Herman Cain came in an impressive second in the Values Voter Summit straw poll yesterday in Washington DC.
Much to some pundits surprise, Herman Cain enjoyed double digit position above the establishment darling Mitt Romney
Herman Cain, the name on everyone’s lips at the summit, enjoyed a well deserved 23 percent of the vote.
“The big vote for Herman Cain shows that most people are not happy with Romney or Perry,” said Phyllis Schlafly, anti-feminist doyenne and founder of the Eagle Forum.
The crowd at the Values Voter Summit loved him. At least part of this is about race. Conservatives are generally infuriated by the assumption that racial resentment animates their anti-liberalism, and Cain seems to absolve them. “I am so intrigued by the fact that we could have two blacks running against each other,” said Tony DeBenedittis, a retired Virginia art teacher. “Maybe that will wipe out all this racist BS that they’re doing right now.” From Michelle Goldberg’s post in The Daily Beast

Herman Cain struck many of the familiar themes he has shared during his campaign, but wove it together flawlessly and
with some new material. He told the crowd that he would build up the missile defense capability of the United States, outfitting U.S. Warships with improved missile interception capability as one way of dealing with Iran. Cain said he would do so and then say to Iran, “Make my day!”
Rising suddenly to become a top-tier contender means “you get this bull-eye’s on your back,” Cain said. But, contrary to the Naysayers of the republican Establishment and of course the left wing Mainstream media, Herman Cain insisted that his growing momentum was no fluke.
Again there is continued chat about his “lack of Public Office experience” but many feel that is WHAT this Country needs to get back on the Prosperity Train
Herman Cain is going to need solid Grass Roots support to assure the Republican party Nomination in 2012.
Once that task is completed he will be a Formidable Candidate for the Presidency, defeating the Petulant, Ivy league, in-experienced (except in Community Organizing and fomenting Class Warfare), Barrack Hussein Obama

If coming in second place to Ron Paul is a triumph, then yes, you’re right. However, Cain got the Silver, Paul took the Gold.
Ron Paul is a Christian, and he spoke a lot about issues that appeal to Christians and Christian conservatives. If the Value Voters Summit is as wise as I think they are, they might try to continue to accommodate the young people, energy and enthusiasm that Paul’s faction brought to the conference. His supporters filled two large rooms, standing room only: old people, young people, families, college students, black people and white people. I had never been to a Paul event before; I was quite surprised to see such a large and diverse group. All the reports I heard in the media are that he only attracts college students.
The rest of the Republican candidates are all for one form or another of big government, pro-bail-outs, and pro-endless war. Please explain how that will be any different than Obama in November?
America wants real change, and that’s why people came to see and hear Paul at the Summit.
Good points, Jay,
I agree that Ron Paul did well and had a spirited Contingent there at the Values Voter Summit.
I am sure you have also researched Mr. Cain’s philosophy, and platform, as well as you have Mr. Paul’s.
In my humble opinion Herman Cain could carry a wider base of Voters in November 2012 than Paul.
Plus he resonates closer to my Political beliefs overall
Your observation:
Represents the same audience’s that Mr. Cain attracts….
We both need to keep up the pressure for these two Candidates
